To be the ultimate gaming rig this computer has to have be special in terms of computing power, gameplay, and aesthetics. Thus I have chosen to model the customised case on a floor to ceiling replica of the master control program from the original film 'Tron'. The MPC was all powerful and this case lets people know it's not messing around.

The majority of the hardware will be housed in the upper portion, consisting of:

I've only selected a single gaming card as that will easily be enough to play any game that is thrown at it. The additional workstation card will be used to create high resolution texture packs so I can give new life to my favourite older games, and to run my CAD and CFD work. This way I can tab out of games to fool people into thinking I'm hard at work, and also make enough money to pay off my massive gaming rig induced debt....

The case itself would be filled with a mineral fluid dyed red, with two 800mm fans (yes 800mm!) with white LED's attached, which will simulate the MCP in the film. The fans will also aid circulation of the mineral fluid which will pumped out of the bottom of the case and through a complex system of pipe work and auxilliary pumps, to a car radiator attached to the roof of the house, thus using natural airflow to cool the fluid. (The radiator will be fan assisted on particularly hot or windless days). The oil is then deposited back to the top of the case.

With the disc tray ejecting from the mouth, one of the eyes will serve as the power switch. In the lower section will be housed the larger hard-drives which will be placed in a blast proof polycarbonate plastic case, with an additional explosive charge placed on the cabling, triggering if anyone unauthorised attempts to access the drives. It would take weeks, if not months to break into the case, making the data as secure as it can be. Of the three SSD drives, one will be dedicated to operating systems and diagnostic programs/anti-virus etc. The second will be dedicated to game installs, and the third to development software. The larger drives will be used for personal files, work, and media content.

The output from the system will normally be to a pair of monitors, one 22" for normal use and one 42" for playing media. However there will also be an output which runs out of the house and underground to the back of the garden where a full HD projector will project video onto the side of my house for those sunny days.

Finally a Microsoft Kinect will be modified to work with Windows 8, allowing full control of the system through movement and hand gestures
